from its wonderful collection. Muscat wines make a considerable number
of this variety. A deep Muscat aroma, distinctive of this grape variety,
makes the wine fabulous. |
MASSANDRA WHITE MUSCAT
Produced since 1892 from the White Muscat grape. The grapes, harvested
from the central plots of the Massandra vineyards, saturated with daytime
hot sunny rays and night soft warmth of slate soils, accumulate a great
quantity of sugar. The colour of the wine is rich in hues - from light
golden to dark golden. In the bouquet there is a brightly pronounced
varietal Muscat nose. The palate of the wine is soft, harmonious, delicate,
with a fine flower-honey flavor. The wine is aged for two years in oak
barrels in cool cellars.

SOUTH COAST WHITE MUSCAT
South Coast White Muscat is a high quality dessert white wine, made
from the White Muscat grape variety, growing on the southern coastal
slopes of the Massandra southern vineyards. Produced since 1940. Internationally
awarded 8 gold and 1 silver medals. The golden amber colour is fascinating
with its beauty, also displaying many golden hues. The bouquet with
a brightly pronounced Muscat nose suggests hot aromas of flowers and
honey. The palate of the wine is soft, full, harmonious, with a rich
Muscat raisin nose and a long, pleasant dessert aftertaste. The period
of ageing in oak casks is 2 years.

SOUTH COAST ROSE MUSCAT
Since 1944 this excellent dessert rose wine has been made from the grape
varieties of Rose Muscat at the South Coast Massandra farms. Internationally
awarded 1 gold and 5 silver medals. The wine shines with its beautiful
intensive rose colour with a ruby tint. Its nose is bright, Muscat,
with gentle flavors of the Kazanlyk or tea rose. The palate of the wine
is full, soft and velvet, pleasantly extractive, with dessert-raisin
overtones and hints of petals of fading roses. The period of ageing
in oak barrels is 2 years.

SUROZH KOKOUR DESSERT
Made of White Kokour local grape variety Wine has golden-amber color
The bouquet is spicy, complex and harmonious The palate is full with
honey flower aroma of meadows. Period of ageing is 2 years.

MASSANDRA ROSE MUSCAT
The splendid Rose Muscat grape is a subvariety of the famous White Muscat,
which appeared in South West Europe some centuries ago and has been
produced at Massandra since 1955. The colour of the wine fascinates
by its rich, intensive, rose colour playing with ruby tints. The refined,
delicate bouquet is suggesting a sweet, tender brightly pronounced Muscat
aroma, which is finely balanced with refined flavors of tea-rose. The
palate of the wine is known for its supreme balance, fullness and velvet,
with a charming cocktail of fragrant peach, ripe Muscat, rose petals
jam or rose liqueur. Bouquet is varietal, refined, delicate and tender
note of tea-rose and ripe Muscat grapes.

MASSANDRA BLACK MUSCAT
The Black Muscat grape variety was brought to the Crimea in the first
half of the XIX century and became known under the name of Muscat Kallyaba.
The wine distinguishes itself with its strikingly bright juicy ruby-garnet
colour, smartly sparkled in a glass with various soft glints of ruby
and beautiful precious crystal colour. The bouquet surprised and fascinated
everyone by its variety and complexity, with a beautiful harmony of
a Muscat nose, light flavors of chocolate, cocoa, prunes and spicy aroma
of chamomile. The colour and bouquet are going on in the palate of the
wine - full, rounded, soft, charming, with gentle overtones of Muscat,
chamomile and spicy flavors of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, prunes. The
palate gives an impression of length and intensity, extractiveness,
velvet and is replenished with a fine aftertaste. The period of ageing
in oak barrels is 2 years.

MASSANDRA PINOT - GRIS
Produced since 1991. Colour may vary from golden to dark golden. Bouquet
is varietal, delicate, bright with refined. elegant quince hint. The
palate of the wine is rich, delicate, with spicy overtones of quince
jam and caramel aftertaste. Period of ageing is 2 years.

SOUTH COAST PINOT - GRIS
The colour of the wine is golden but may vary to dark-apricot tint.
The bouquet is bright varietal with tones of ageing.
The palate is full, “oily”, harmonious with taste of rye crust. Period
of ageing is 2 years.

MASSANDRA BASTARDO
Massandra Bastardo is made from the Bastardo grape variety since 1966.
Grape is harvested when natural sugar content has reached no less than
25 %. The young wine is matured in oak casks in underground tunnels
at 12°-14 °C for 2yrs. Deep dark ruby color with glints. Compound bouquet
is varietal, with deep and piquant flavors of cream chocolate. The palate
of wine is full, soft, mouth-filling, and delicate with overtones of
chocolate, coffee and vanilla.

AYU-DAG ALEATICO
The Aleatico is a red grape variety of Italian origin, known from the
remote past. The grape variety accumulates sugar by end of October by
28-30%, or even higher. The wine has fascinating purple-ruby colour.
The wine has a well-developed, rich, varietal, brightly pronounced nose
of spicy-dessert character. The bouquet is spicy, typical dessert with
tones of vanilla chocolate. The palate of wine is refined, delicate
and well balanced. The extractive palate of Aleatico Ayu-Dag is harmonious,
soft with light tones of rose petals and flavors of coffee and cacao.

SOUTH COAST CAGORS
The production of this high quality Cagors started in 1933. Made of
Saperavi (old Georgian grape variety). The color of the wine is intensive
ruby with purple hues, hardly transparent. The bouquet of the wine is
very complex, varietal, with flavors of cream and black currants. Under
many year of ageing the wine develops beautiful hints of coffee, chocolate,
vanilla in its nose. The palate of the wine is powerful, extractive,
with a soft tannin note and velvet, as well as with a rich mélange of
prunes, currants, cream and chocolate. Ageing period is 3 years.

AY-SEREZ
Red dessert wine is made in Massandra since 1991 from grape varieties
Cabernet Sauvignon and Magarach Bastardo. The wine colour varies from
red to dark-red. Bouquet is well developed, complex with full body.
The palate is harmonious, full, with soft overtones of coffee, chocolate,
and cream. Period of ageing in oak barrels is 2 years.

PRINCE GOLITZIN SEVENTH HEAVEN
The wine was first made by the founder of native wine making Prince
Leo Gallitzin in 1880. Though the secret of its production process was
lost, Massandra wine makers managed to revive this fabulous brand of
wine in 1996. High quality dessert white brand wine, made of noble white
grape varieties: Kokur White, Muscat White, Muscat Rose. The wine is
aged in oak barrels for 2 years. The wine has a color of gold and amber.
The bouquet is complex, bright with the prevailing tones of honey, peach,
quince and delicate overtones of blossoming rose petals and sun-dried
rose. Palate is full, harmonious, oily with pleasant dessert aftertaste.
