How the Honey Smoothening process was invented
The process of vodka smoothening was invented by Ilya Voskresensky
(1856-1932), a Russian doctor and dietician from St. Petersburg. In 1902
he emigrated to Switzerland, where he undertook research into the science
of diet. At that time, his pamphlets about healthy eating and the benefits
of honey, which he published under the pseudonym of Dr Medkoff, were extremely
popular. One of Voskresensky’s research works was focused on honey smoothened
vodka, which retained special features – purity, clearness
and mild taste. In the meantime, the doctor has also
developed a vodka-production process that involved addition of pollen and propolis, the queen
bee milk. However, the main principle of honey smoothened vodka
remained unaltered.

A century later, Ilya Voskresensky’s descendants, who
live in London, discovered archive documents on the research carried out
by their eminent ancestor, where he described the technology and particular
themes that lay behind his work. The exciting ideas of the research brought
the descendants to decision to put the unique technique to the test in production.
The results exceeded all their expectations: not only did the vodka turn
out to be clear, without any after-taste of honey, but also had a very smooth
taste and aroma. Following that positive experience, the company Medkoff & Co was founded.
It has patented ingredients and the process for producing smooth vodka, invented as far back as in 1902.

At the international tasting competition,
United Vodka 2003, in Cannes, representatives
of Medkoff company became interested in Ukrainian company, Soyuz Viktan, that won two silver
and one gold medal at a tasting competition among over 60 famous brands from Sweden, Finland,
Poland and Russia. After negotiations, Soyuz Viktan company obtained the right to produce and distribute products,
based on the new technology, in CIS countries. The new trademark of honey smoothed vodka then has been named MEDOFF.
Since then, all vodka under this brand name is produced by means of a new honey smoothening technique with addition of best grain spirit and softened deep well water.
