The work of Kyiv Factory of Sparkling Wines “Stolychny” began almost half of a century ago.
The construction of Kyiv Factory of Sparkling Wines has started in January 1950.
A year later the factory began its economic activity, storing cognac spirit and wine materials.
But the history of the factory dates long before this date, namely from the second half of the 19th century,
when on 2 of September 1860 a colonist of Volynsk guberniya Wilgelm Rihert received a permission to build a beer factory
on his own territory, situated in the outskirts of Kyiv, Kurenjevka, on the Syrets river.

At the very beginning of the 'soviet era', the factory was converted into a tinned food factory.
Such factory was built and it existed up to 1950. The construction of Kyiv Factory of Sparkling Wines has started in January 1950.
A year later the factory began its economic activity, storing cognac spirit and wine materials.
On the 23 July 1959, for the first time in the USSR, Kyiv factory of sparkling wines opened up
the production of a new kind of sparkling wine “Sovetskoe shampanskoe”.
The high quality of this wine was marked at international wine competitions in Hungary and Yugoslavia,
where the wine won silver and gold medals.
During the 'soviet era', the wine making technology was constantly improved, increasing rates of production.

In 26 March 1999, after a few years of Perestroika, the enterpprize became a closed joint-stock company.
Today, the company acts in the interests of its shareholders, profiting in Ukrainian and foreign currencies.
The key objects of the company’s activity is production of sparkling wines, low alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks
and creation of new drinks. Stolychny brands are known by century-old traditions and the quality approved by years.
